Lifting Hoist

The purpose of a lifting hoist is just what the name implies: “lifting”. The implementation of a hoist allows a larger load to be lifted than could otherwise be moved without the means of the hoist. There are hoists that are operated manually or electrically and even pneumatically, that use a lift hook and a chain, rope or cable attached to the load to lift and move it.

Investment casting is used to produce many of the parts employed by a lifting hoist. From the lift or pulley itself to the hardware that is used to attach the load to the hoist all are created by some form of metal casting.

Without a hoist there are many loads that could not be moved. There are even hoists that are used for lifting medical patients.
