A metal seated ball valve is a valve that is characterized by a tight shut-off and control. They are used by many different types of applications and industries and as such must be cast from the appropriate metal or metal alloy for a specific use to ensure durability. Some ball valves are made from acetal with a valve size that is less than a quarter of an inch. This type of ball valve has a pressure rating that is less than 225 psi. There are metal seated ball valves cast from aluminum, brass or bronze and cast iron. They can range in valve size from a quarter of an inch to 2 inches, with psi pressure ratings that range from 225 to 3,700. Ball valves can also be cast with stainless steel and cast iron. Some of the industries that find uses for metal seated ball valves are often those that have high temperature or high pressure applications. These are also industries that often have abrasive environments.
