Steel Casting Products

Steel casting products come in an unlimited variety of sizes, shapes and uses. In addition, products that are cast from steel are can be cast in over 300 different steel alloys. The use of steel alloys produces products that have the special qualities of ductility, hardness and tensile strength needed to fulfill a particular function.

Some of the larger steel casting products can been seen in buildings, bridges, infrastructure, ships, military machinery, automobiles, and major appliances.

Some of the smaller products cast from steel are hand tools, such as hammer heads, pliers, screwdrivers, commercial and food-grade kitchen furnishings, small engine parts, building hardware, and all types of machinery.

Many investment casting manufacturers or foundries specialize in the type of steel castings they produce. Some prefer to concentrate on certain alloys, or are only equipped to produce small parts. For instance, only a few foundries in the world produce those large propellers that move supertankers and majestic cruise ships through the water.

Steel casting also produces high quality steel tubes used in a many different industries around the world. Some foundries specialized in carbon steel tubes and alloy steel pipes and produce them in custom, as well as standardized dimensions.

Another group of casting products usually cast from steel and steel alloys is plumbing and heating fittings, nozzles, nipples, connectors, elbows, T’s, crosses, caps and valves. Stainless steel is also used to produce threaded and high-pressure fittings, used in a variety of applications.
