Trailer Ball Hitch

A trailer ball hitch is one of those items that most people don’t realize come in different designs and made from different metals. That is, until they need one for a specific job.

There are standard hitch balls that come with a 2” ball and a 1” or 1.25” shank. This is the typical trailer ball hitch that one would use on a car or truck for towing from 3,500 to 8,000 pounds.

There are also hi-rise hitch balls and long shank hitch balls. There are also hitch balls called “switch-ball” that have multiple ball heads in different sizes. These are removable and interchangeable.

In addition to trailer hitch balls that are a product of some type of metal casting, there are numerous accessories that are also created by metal casting. What follows is just a list of those various accessories:
